Iran Reviews Proposed US Agreement as Regional Stalemate Continues

Iran is reportedly reviewing a proposed agreement with the United States aimed at extending the ceasefire and reducing tensions as the regional conflict remains unresolved.

Iran is reportedly examining a proposed agreement with the United States designed to reduce tensions and help end the ongoing conflict between the two countries, according to Iranian media reports.

The development comes after U.S. President Donald Trump stated that negotiations between Washington and Tehran were still ongoing and that both sides were working toward extending the ceasefire and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

More than three months after military strikes involving the United States and Israel against Iran, the regional situation remains tense. Although a ceasefire reached earlier this year has mostly remained in place, occasional exchanges of attacks have continued, keeping uncertainty high across the region.

Reports suggest that indirect negotiations aimed at reaching a temporary agreement have so far produced limited progress. Iran is said to be carefully reviewing the latest proposal while maintaining a cautious position due to longstanding distrust of U.S. policies and concerns over previous agreements.

According to Iranian sources, Tehran has not yet officially responded to the final draft of the proposed temporary arrangement. Officials reportedly believe that any agreement must include clear guarantees and practical commitments before approval.

The prolonged tensions have also affected global energy markets. Oil prices declined by more than one percent on Tuesday after strong gains earlier, while energy analysts warned that global oil reserves could face increasing pressure if disruptions continue.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a key concern for international markets, as it is one of the world’s most important routes for oil transportation. Continued instability in the area has raised concerns among governments and investors worldwide.
